Why start a solo project with a cover? Why not?

When I first heard Harmony In My Head about 25 years ago, it changed everything. Up until then, to me punk music was supposed to be fast, loud and angry. The Buzzcocks showed me that punk rock could have a killer melody, be a little bit lighter and still destroy. They even sang about love, which I took a little too far in my teenage years and went to CringeworthyTown (which is thousands of miles from FlavorTown, but that’s not why I called). Anyway, these guys were like The Beatles, only if The Beatles were actually good!

A big thanks to the legendary Anti Radio show on Elmhurst College’s 88.7 that put this song on the map for me - and for fueling the punk rock fire by turning me onto a million other bands that undoubtedly shifted my path. All I wanted was to hear the new Passengers song, and I ended up with a new existence.

So why not start this solo project out with a cover song?
